This first one isn't a food place, but it is a slice of old New York that at this point in Manhattan is very rare to see. It's one of the things that makes the Lower East Side such a great place to live. You can double click on any of these pictures to embiggen them.
For what ever reason I never think of Jerky as a Chinese food, in my mind it's always Jamaican.
...and here's a close up of the adorable animals featured on the sign that can be found inside butchered, skinned and ready to cook! I find this funny and actually very refreshing that the Chinese are so in touch with where their food comes from.
So cute!
