Hester Street Fair
The Hester Street Fair is a very groovy little weekend flea market and foodie destination created in what was a unused lane way in between a park and a playground. Vendors range from Pain D'Avignon bread to the uber hip barber shop Franks Chop Shop which has joined up with Malbon Brothers BBQ to serve up heritage pulled pork sandwiches and ribs.
In addition to lots of food stands there are people selling old kitchen wares, Chinese antiques (well or repros) jewelery and spices plus lots more.
The fair is open rain or shine every Saturday and Sunday from 10-6 and they plant stay open through till December. It's a great fun addition to the neighborhood and well worth a trip to the Lower East Side to check it out.
