After writing about kosher beef now available from the Unions Square Green market from New York Beef I decided I needed to actually buy some. I'm not a big meat eater and really for most of the last oh 25 years have pretty much avoided beef. Tonight our friends Denise and Philip were over and I made burgers (home made ketchup, German mustard and cucumber salad with a compote of fresh strawberries and raspberries for dessert). Can I just say I really understand the appeal, they were really delicious. My recipe? Salt, lots of freshly grated black pepper and a generous amount of finely chopped young garlic the first of the season bought today at the market.
