Local Black Walnuts: Part 2

After rinsing...even though I wore gloves my thumbs managed to still be dyed brown
And below after I had smashed them with the hammer and dug them out with the sharp knife.

The thing about them is they taste like nothing I have ever had, certainly not like post 3 will be after they are all shelled and roasted and I make something with them....I hoping on making Chris and Skips grandmother' recipe for walnut pound cake.

I'll go through the cookbooks and find the recipe this week. We're painting the living room so it's in one of the church cookbooks in a stack of books. You'll love it!
