A Peach Grows in the East Village

This tree is in the public garden in the East Village where Neil and I have a few plots. This tree gets heavy with fruit every year, in the four years I've been a member the peaches always are perfect (a bit on the small side) and no one ever pays this tree or the plum, pear and apple trees that also grow in the garden no mind. Makes me wonder what would happen if we stopped growing everything in large monocultures and diversified our crops if we would even need to use pesticides?

This is a section of our shade garden.
