Just when it seemed like things couldn't get any worse, the Burmese junta have removed Suu Kyi from house arrest, taken her to a prison and disbarred her lawyer. Obviously they feel like the time is now to kill her by putting her out of site of the international community in a Burmese jail. I can only hope this does not happen and that the world community finally steps up to the plate and acts decisively to free her. Of course China, Burma's parent state has remained silent.Below I have posted the letter being sent to the UN secretary general, I urge you to please take a moment right now and go to the US Campaign for Burma's site and sign the petition. It would be a tragedy to let China and the Burmese Junta to get away with the murder of this great woman, a Nobel peace prize winner and rightful, democratically elected leader of the Burmese people. Political power will only be moved to action if the people rise up and let their will be known.

"Until all of our political prisoners are free, none of us can say that Burma is now truly on the road towards democratic change." Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, 1991 Nobel Peace Prize Winner, held under house arrest for 13 of the last 19 years.
The military government - the State Peace and Development Council (SPDC) – must immediately and unconditionally release all political prisoners including Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, Khun Tun Oo and Min Ko Naing.
The release of all political prisoners is the first and most important step towards freedom and democracy in Burma. We, the undersigned, call upon UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to make it his personal priority to secure the release of all of Burma's political prisoners by the SPDC.
